Museum of *Down There*

The 'Museum of Down There' is a general awareness campaign proposal for the Vagina Museum, as part of the Global x Contagious Look Ahead Competition, inviting ideas to bring life to the Elizabeth Line's new media formats.

In the campaign we see the Elizabeth line adorned with the eyes of current and future members of the Vagina Museum community.

 

The eyes briefly look around unassumingly, taking in the hustle and bustle of the London Underground, in the way you might when commuting through the stations. The eyes then settle downwards, as if to say, the real point of interest here is vaginas, and we’ve got just the place you can see more for yourself, the Vagina Museum!

There’s no doubt that vaginas are a sensitive topic for many people, so what better way to broach the subject than through a lens of play and joy. The public are encouraged to engage with the topic of vaginas, not because they should, but because they can!

The experience of seeing vaginas represented and spoken about on such a public scale, helps concrete the fact that it’s a topic not just reserved for private google searches or small scale discussion groups, but a topic worthy of wider public representation. The campaign acts almost as a product demonstration of the accessibility, tact, inclusivity and humour with which the Vagina Museum carries out their vital work around all things gynaecological.
